Affiliate Marketing Problems

By John Anghelache

Which of these affiliate marketing mistakes do you make?

I'm glad I have your attention. I'll tell you what these common mistakes are. First, listen to this: In high school I had aspirations of becoming a pro athlete. I joined Gold's Gym to get bulked up.

Man, did I get a rude awakening. The gym rats (that's what guys who hang out a gym are called) were all huge. Muscle bound freaks stared at my "pencil-neck" physique. I was intimidated.

Despite having worked out for a year, I did not make much progress. It occurred to me something was wrong. Instead of continuing on my path of ignorance I bought a book on bodybuilding. Reading that book was an eye-opener.

I figured the same thing applies to affiliate marketing. So I made sure to find out the common errors new affiliates make. This way, I could avoid those mistakes. And reap the rewards faster.

This is what I found out...

Here then are the five mistakes most beginning affiliate marketers make...

Mistake #1: Not choosing a big enough niche. Sure niche marketing is all the rage. But if the market you choose is too small forget about it. The best way to choose a market is to see if commercial lists exist. Go to the library. Page through the Standard Rate And Data Service. If a category exists for a market in that book it's a good bet the market is deep and wide.

Not collecting emails is another dumb mistake. The way to build a profitable business is to have a list. The list becomes your most important asset. Compile both a prospect list and a customer list. Work them both for increased profits.

Being timid about selling is yet another big mistake. I think the sales trainer, Zig Ziggler, said, "Timid salespeople have skinny children." The statement also applies to business owners and affiliate marketers. Anyone who sells needs to keep it in mind. You make your money by sending the list offers. Do it without apology.

Something else: Stop putting all your effort into low priced items. The real money is in the high priced products. Have a mix of both. Put put most of your time and effort into the high ticket stuff. Again, that's where the money is.

I hope you found this article helpful.

Anyway, those are five mistakes to avoid as an affiliate marketer... if... you want to make more money.
